Business Description

Bloomtrigger is pioneering a new, visual model of online fundraising to empower people to protect rainforests in a simple, affordable, and creative way. The business supports local forestry communities on the ground by promoting sustainable development and environmental awareness.  Deforestation accounts for approximately one fifth of global carbon emissions, one of the primary causes of climate change.

The bloomtrigger project aims to raise £100M to protect one million hectares of the most biodiverse rainforest on the planet.  Bloomtrigger enables individuals, businesses and primary school children to help protect their own part of the rainforest. They sell a virtual currency called 'blooms' and one bloom (which costs 50 pence) will help to protect approximately 50m2 of forest.
